Things to Do in Trinity Beach

If you’re seeking activities in Trinity Beach, the one-kilometre sandy area lined with beach almond trees and offering breathtaking views of the Coral Sea is an excellent starting point. However, this beautiful coastal area has much more to offer beyond just beach time.

Thanks to its amazing climate throughout the year and the breathtaking coastline of Tropical North Queensland, Trinity Beach offers a perfect backdrop for a variety of water activities, making swimming a favored recreational activity in the area.

July is the coolest month, as the water temperature falls to a pleasant 23°C, while the summer period, spanning from October to February, averages around 28°C.

To ensure that Trinity Beach is an ideal destination for family vacations, it is monitored throughout the year, and during the warmer months, stinger nets are installed for safety against harmful marine creatures.

Trinity Beach is famous for its idyllic walks lined with swaying palms that create shaded spots ideal for relaxing in a beautiful setting. Additionally, it features rocky headlands that provide stunning views of Double Island and the Coral Sea.

Legislation enacted in 2015, which prohibited commercial net fishing in the area and established the ‘Cairns Net Free Zone,’ has made off-the-beach fishing at Trinity Beach popular among anglers from both nearby and distant locations, with barramundi being the primary attraction.

Trinity Beach is famous for the size of the barramundi that are frequently caught from its shore. There are two prominent rocky headlands, one to the north and one to the south, that are also known for large salmon (both blue and king salmon). Additionally, the deep-water channel at the southern headland attracts whiting, making it a popular fishing spot.

The barramundi fishing season at Trinity Beach is closed each year from November 1 to February 1.
